Tapan M. Kadia, MD

About Dr. Kadia

Dr. Kadia serves as co-leader of the acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and developmental therapeutics sections and is the associate program director of the Leukemia Fellowship Program.

Dr. Kadia earned his medical degree from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in Piscataway, New Jersey. He completed his internship, residency, and chief residency at Baylor College of Medicine Affiliated Hospitals in Houston, Texas, followed by a clinical fellowship in hematology/oncology at MD Anderson Cancer Center.

His clinical and translational research is centered on the treatment of leukemia, with a particular emphasis on developmental therapeutics in acute leukemias. His work includes studies on individualized frontline therapies, biologically targeted regimens, and long-term maintenance strategies in AML and acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). He serves as principal investigator on numerous clinical trials involving AML, T-cell leukemias, and bone marrow failure syndromes.

Dr. Kadia has received multiple academic and clinical awards in recognition of his contributions to leukemia research and patient care. He has authored more than 420 peer-reviewed publications and has been invited to present his work at national and international forums.
